Lockers, Gears and Axles

It's all about traction. Lockers and limited slip differentials, selectable or mechanical, gear ratios and upgraded axles

Elocker, Limited slip, mechanical lockers, air lockers, cable lockers - what you need to know.

Differential traction has come a long way since I started off roading back in the late 90s. My first locker was a Lock Right "lunchbox" locker in a factory Jeep Dana 44. Since that time, I have installed and used in just about every combination and axle type, mechanical, air and electric lockers. We have a bevy of choices these days and once the Jeep Rubicon came into being in 2003 (back then I drove Jeep Rubicon #2 at a Jeep Jamboree) the OEM manufacturers got on the band wagon and all the major manufacturers offer lockers or traction aids or even Electonic slip control systems to add more traction to our rides! we do our best to cover them all along with, Axle ratio changes, axle shaft upgrades and full out axle assembly swaps, and IFs to solid axle conversions.

ARB 14 bolt - the only selectable for the axle

The 14-bolt is one tough axle - and can be found relatively cheap and is well supported by the aftermarket. Currently there is only one selectable locker - the ARB air locker, and it's a good one.
